About the Book
Historica Arcanum: The Serpentine Door is a short, exciting adventure set in the 19th-century Ottoman Empire. It can serve as a prequel to the events in the City of Crescent campaign or act as a brief standalone adventure.
Diplomacy and hospitality are symbiotic, so it is no surprise that Frederick Calvert, British consul to Çanakkale, has mastered both. In his farm near the strategic Dardanelles, he hosts diplomats, merchants, spies, and socialites. The conversations that take place around his dinner table range from the price of grain, to the latest archaeological find, and to the fate of nations.
The adventurers happen to find themselves around his table on a particularly eventful couple of days. While the conversation is mostly to do with the comings and goings of the Ottoman Empire and the successful conclusion of the Crimean War, Frederick’s younger brother Frank and his guest Heinrich Schliemann might be on the verge of a monumental archeological discovery…
